The Safetrx device is used for tracking and alerting in emergency situations at sea. It is designed to complement the existing software technologies from Safetrx. The Safetrx app is used by for example the Swedish Sea Rescue Society.
Safetrx transmits position, speed and heading to the Safetrx server at regular intervals. If an emergency occurs an alert can be sent out.
The wearable hardware and platform was developed by Sony and it uses 4G/5G IoT networks to connect with responders in the event of an emergency.
The wearable device is water resistant IP68, has long battery life, needs to stand hard conditions and be durable.
I was responsible for the hardware design from concept to production, including research, concept sketches, 3d/ 2d drawings, mockups - 3d print renderings and UI concept.
I was also responsible for making product scenario, presentation and sell in material.
